Biography

British rider Kristina Hall-Jackson (27) enjoyed a successful Badminton debut last year completing with CMS Google (29th) winning the Laurence Rook trophy for the ‘highest placed British rider not to have previously completed the event’. CMS Google is her her entry this year also.

Kristina is based in Dewsbury, West Yorkshire where she runs her own yard. In 2022 with CMS Google Katrina completed her first Burghley (25th) and the pair was 21st there in 2023.

Katrina has always ridden initially competing with the Pony Club then in the show ring in working Hunter Pony classes competing at the RIHS and HOYS. At the age of 14 she took up eventing and in her first season was fifth at the Pony Championships. She was given the ride on Judy Bradwell’s Lemington Lets Dance with who she was 17th at the 2014 Junior European Championships at Bishop Burton and successfully competed up to CIC3*. The pair was long-listed for the Young Rider team in 2015.

In 2016 after a gap year she made the decision to forgo a place at Leeds University to concentrate on horses and establish a yard at home. In 2020 she was selected for the 7-year-old world Championship at Le Lions (14th Igor B). In 2021 with CMS Google she completed Blenheim 4* and in 2022 was 6th in the 4*L at Bramham.  Through the WESKO foundation Kristina was mentored by Pippa Funnel and she trains with Christopher Bartle.

Her sister Danielle also rode competing WHPs at HOYS but then concentrated on swimming competing successfully for team GB until injury ended her career in the water. She is now a big supporter and groom to Kristina.

Outside of horses Kristina enjoys working her two springer spaniels and socialising with non-horsey-school friends.

CMS Google is a 14-year-old Irish-bred mare. Bred by Ray O’Reilly (owner of the CSM prefix) she is by the Belgian Warmblood Baltimore (aka Quartz de Laubry) out of Shalom Internet by Cavalier. Shalom Internet was competed in showjumping by Ray and after her career bred several offspring. Google was acquired as a five-year-old from Vere Phillips and was a 2015 Christmas present to Kristina from her parents.
